New interview with FORSAID coordinator Andrea Battisti

During last year's annual meeting of the FORSAID consortium, the project's coordinator, Professor Andrea Battisti (University of Padua) gave an interview on how the initiative is set to innovate the forest pest management landscape of Europe.

Following an introduction to the background and objectives behind this vision, he discussed the importance of the technologies being developed within the project. In particular, he outlined the planned efforts to facilitate:

  • the automatic interpretation of forest pest data from remote sensing technologies
  • machine-powered identification of pests and pathogens in European forests

The interview also highlighted FORSAID's progress within its first year, referring to the tools, collaborations and stakeholder surveys that have been undertaken thus far.
