The second FORSAID in-person demonstration workshop to take place in France in August 2026
Registration for the event is now open via this form.
August 2026 will see the second in-person technology demonstration and training event of the FORSAID project. Following up on last month's first edition in Italy, the workshop will be held in Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, France. Its organisation is being facilitated by three FORSAID consortium partners - the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE), the European Institute of Planted Forest (IEFC) and Telespazio France SAS. They are joined by the NEOVIZ Group, an established actor in devising innovative nature-based solutions across ecological and economic contexts, as well as the POLLENIZ association, a network for plant health stakeholders.
The event targets regional and national professionals, managers, owners and experts in the forestry sector. With the needs and challenges they face in mind, the workshop will feature three technological innovations developed within FORSAID at the heart of its agenda on 27 August (09:00-17:00 CET). Beyond informing interest groups of the project's efforts, their on-site demonstration is also meant to provide an opportunity for user feedback to facilitate further refinement before their eventual wider deployment in the field. More specifically, the solutions in focus will be:
- open source and low-cost Entomoscope for automatic identification of insect pests
- smart traps for pine processionary moths (one of FORSAID's target species) with automatic transmission of catch data
- aerial remote sensing coupled with AI for pine wood nematode symptoms detection
The full programme, complete with more detailed descriptions of the technologies, is available in English and French. Registration for the workshop is open via this form.
